What you'll be doing

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is pivotal to the coordination of safe patient care, ward management and leadership with an understanding of the 'children first & foremost' philosophy to ensure optimum service delivery.

The NUM acts as a leader with advance role model skills that promote culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.

  • Leads, directs and co-ordinates safe patient care
  • Ensures practice is safe and effective, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvements initiatives
  • Manages the ward effectively and within agreed allocated resources

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to manage change.
