About Us

Ulan West is an established, efficient, and high production underground longwall coal mining operation in the western coalfields of NSW. With state-of-the-art mining equipment, the latest technologies, and best in class safety practices, we are leading exporters in thermal coal. You will be part of a dynamic high performing team using the most advanced technology available to achieve the highest possible operating standards efficiently and safely.

About the role

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety strategies to enable business priorities and a safe workplace culture

  • Managing implementation and compliance of health and safety systems

  • Engaging with key stakeholders and internal groups to respond to demands and identify areas for continuous improvement

  • Supporting your direct reports in the areas of Health, Safety and Training.  

Requirements for the role 

  • Demonstrated leadership and a track record of delivering improvement initiatives

  • Previous experience working in a senior operations role associated with a medium to large size mining business is highly regarded

  • Qualifications in Health & Occupational Hygiene or related discipline

  • Desirable additional qualifications include: Diploma of Frontline Manager, Certificate in Rehabilitation coordination, workplace training and assessment or Health and Safety Auditing
