Commissioning Engineer

Our projects business unit is proven in multi-disciplinary project delivery, with capabilities for delivering Brownfields and Greenfield work packages. We have a proven track record of successfully completing a high volume of project packages for our Blue Chip mining client base. From design through to completion and handover, we are able to supply, maintain and manage all aspects of projects works including, remedial works, capital works and expansion projects.

We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer, to join awarded Conveyor & Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades Package on the Cape Lambert A High Density Ore (CLAHDO) Project on the Pilbara coast in Western Australia. This project involves significant electrical, instrumentation and control system upgrades, conveyor drive station upgrades and other infrastructure upgrades. This presents an opportunity to be based on this milestone project for its duration, and scheduled for completion in August 2026, with further worked offered thereafter on alternate projects.

THE ROLE
As a Commissioning Engineer you will be working on a FIFO roster and responsible for:

• Developing and revising the commissioning program in consultation with the Project Manager
• Developing and approving Commissioning ITPs & ITRs, testing procedures, and documentation as required
• Ensuring all site acceptance testings have been performed and relevant ITPs & ITRs have been completed
• Testing and Commissioning of SMPEIC package of works
• Fault finding and subsequent rectification of newly installed systems
• Endorsement and assignment of Commissioning supervision and technicians
• Completion and integrity of the punch-list and protection register
• Overseeing teams of commissioning personnel, including oversight of vendor commissioning representatives
• Ensuring a review is conducted prior to each major phase of commissioning to avoid safety or environmental incidents
• Meeting with clients and subcontractors and being involved in technical discussions

About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for HV substations, switchgear and drive motors
• Engineering Degree
• Experience in testing and fault resolution in HV/LV power systems
• Ability to manage risk throughout the project lifecycle through development and implementation
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders both externally and internally
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent problem solving skills and time management
