We're looking for a motivated 1st year apprentice to join our small team and learn the craft of building solid timber furniture and high-end joinery. This is an opportunity to build real skills in a traditional trade where you will be trained and supported by experienced cabinet makers.
As an apprentice at Guy Segal Designs, you will be trained in the full cabinet making process from planning to installation and working on custom residential and commercial projects.
This role suits someone who:
- Enjoys working with their hands and creating things
- Appreciates high-quality work and wants to learn the right way (rather than just assembling flat-packed orders)
- Loves the idea of building with solid timber
- Is ready to commit to a long-term trade within a tight team
Key skills you'll learn:
- Custom cabinetry creation, assembly and installation
- Reading and understanding plans and cutting lists
- Creating your own cutting lists
- Safe and confident use of machinery and hand tools
- Workshop organisation and material preparation
- Finishing techniques
- Solid timber furniture design and construction
What we offer in a work environment:
- Hands-on learning from three experienced tradespeople
- A supportive workshop culture
- Opportunities to work on custom, one-of-a-kind pieces
- Stable long-term role for the right person
No experience is required. Come with a good attitude and we'll teach you the rest.
The details:
- Full-time
- $32-40k per annum depending on age and experience
- Start 2026
- Arana Hills, Brisbane
- Manual driver's licence essential
- Construction white card preferred
If you're ready to learn a respected trade and take pride in what you build, we'd love to hear from you.
