About the Role:
As a Junior Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced team to learn and develop skills in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working in a professional workshop environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assisting with the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Performing mechanical work on trailers, including suspensions and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Servicing and repairing brakes, testing, and fixing basic electrical circuits, and wiring harnesses and lights for new trailers.
- Learning diagnostic techniques and how to perform mechanical inspections.
- Using and maintaining workplace tools and equipment effectively.
- Keeping the workplace clean and tidy at all times, contributing to a safe and efficient workshop environment.
- Maintaining detailed records of work performed and participating in safety practices.
What We're Looking For:
- A genuine interest in the heavy vehicle and transport industry.
- A strong willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- A commitment to safety and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology (Heavy Vehicle Servicing Pre-Apprenticeship (preferred but not essential)
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment (preferred but not essential).
- Punctual, reliable, and energetic.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- A valid Driver's Licence.
