The Role

Abervale Retirement Village, located in Grovedale, is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and reliable Cook on a permanent Part-Time Basis.

Reporting the Head Chef, your duties will include:

You will be trained in and tasked with providing quality food service to our residents and assisting with the day-to-day kitchen operations & events of the village.

  • Food preparation and cooking according to set menu for the day
  • Cleaning and upkeep of work station to food safety standards
  • Work with the Kitchen Assistant to serve meals to residents (approx. 25 servings per day)
  • Work with Kitchen Assistant to clean up after dining service

Your Background

  • Experience in a Café or Restaurant food operations.
  • Have relevant cooking experience or a cert 4 in hospitality or commercial cookery
  • Be able to multitask and work unsupervised.
  • Have a strong customer-service focus

Shifts

  • Permanent Part-Time – 5 days per fortnight
  • Friday (10:30AM-6:30PM)
  • Sunday (10:30AM-6:30PM)
  • Every second Saturday (10:30AM-6:30PM)
  • Some extra hours may be required occasionally
