In this pivotal role, you will champion best practices in differentiated learning, support students with diverse educational needs, and collaborate with staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities

The primary role of the Head of Individual Needs is to support the learning needs of students from Prep to Year 12.

  • Utilising data to identify students requiring Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and providing professional guidance to staff on setting appropriate goals for these students.
  • Regularly monitoring and ensuring that IEPs are kept up to date.
  • Identifying students with individual needs, and assisting staff in recognising these students, while coordinating campus-wide screening tests, collecting, and analysing data in line with Haileybury's screening test program.

  • Strong team player with the ability to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and colleagues.
  • Capable of handling multiple demands in a dynamic, semi-structured environment.
  • Proficient in high-level decision-making, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students.
  • Resilient when managing interactions with staff and students in challenging situations.
  • Able to work in variable environments, including managing physical tasks like lifting parcels (up to 5kg) and assessing the need for PPE.
  • A Master's degree in Special Education is highly desirable and will support your success in this role
