It is an exciting time to join MACS, where we are transforming to bring to life our strategic plan - MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World that will help all MACS staff come together to make the most of what a Catholic education has to offer so that we have the greatest and most distinctive impact in our classrooms, staffrooms and schools communities. More details on the MACS strategy can be found here.
The MACS Code of Conduct (the Code) embodies our collective commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work environment that prioritises the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone, inspired by our Catholic faith. We ask that all staff read and understand the Code and model the behaviours that are expected of us.
YOUR ROLE
As a Principal, you will be inspired to lead a joy-filled community where students, staff, and families can flourish within a Catholic context. Your leadership will enable the vision of the school to be realised, creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential. The role of the Principal is one of the most important roles across the MACS system, as their faith and educational leadership enables the vision of the school to be realised. This role will work in collaboration with MACS, staff members, local Parish Priest, and the broader School community to achieve the identified goals of the School.
ABOUT CORPUS CHRISTI SCHOOL PRIMARY SCHOOL, WERRIBEE
Corpus Christi School, Werribee was established in 1985 to meet the growing demands for Catholic education in the Werribee area. It is now one of six Catholic primary schools in the St Andrew's Parish. Inspired by the Josephite Sisters who have a long history in the Parish, Corpus Christi pays homage to St Mary of the Cross MacKillop in providing a learning community that calls on her tenacity and courage as motivation for all.
The school's mission is to live out the Gospel values of justice, integrity, respect, and dignity. To be the embodiment of the meaning of Corpus Christi, the school strives to develop the whole child; spiritually, physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. The curriculum is designed around the future needs of the students with a strong focus on instructional practices and high engagement in learning.
Corpus Christi school places a strong focus on student and staff well-being and creating a positive, hope filled school culture. Building and strengthening positive and collaborative relationships amongst the students, parents and staff has supported the growth of all.
A strong understanding of current educational practices and MACS directions is essential.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
The school celebrates the multicultural heritage of many families who have joined the school community. Previously from a predominantly Italian background, the school has experienced changes over the years and now welcomes families from all corners of the world. Some families have a refugee or humanitarian status. Family members are encouraged to play an integral role in the education of their children and the school has many activities that provide avenues for families to become involved. This is inclusive of St Andrew's Parish where the students celebrate their faith and participate in the traditions of the church.
The 18 learning community groups work alongside skilled leaders who design learning that caters for diversity and maximizes inclusion. Literacy, numeracy and Religious Education are priority areas, but the students enjoy a broad range of learning designed to enable them to participate fully in the community.
Parental involvement is always welcomed, actively encouraged and valued. Some of the ways parents are involved may include School Advisory Council, fundraising and excursions.
Corpus Christi school has a total enrolment of 452 students.
MACS is seeking a Principal who will build on the school's strengths, engage wholeheartedly with the community, and lead with vision and faith, guiding the school through its next phase of growth, including upcoming infrastructure projects.
Enrolment numbers are correct at the time of publication.
