We are open to considering applications from fully qualified Building Surveyors or those studying toward their qualification.

As a Building Surveyor in our team, you will play a key role in assessing and processing building and development applications, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and align with Council policies. You will also provide clear, accurate, and professional guidance to customers, helping them navigate compliance requirements effectively.

•    Base annual salary between $84,464 - $90,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:

•    Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire's HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork

•    Level 2 Building Surveying qualification or progress towards, and/or equivalent experience

•    Strong understanding of the applicable legislation such as Local Government Act 1995, Building Regulations 2012, Building Act 2011, Building Code of Australia and related codes and standards

•    Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively

•    Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service

•    Competent in MS Office (Word & Outlook)

•    Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Relevant work experience in Local Government building or planning, and/or the building construction industry will be advantageous.
