About the Role

We are inviting applications from experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) holding a Beechcraft B300 (King Air 350) type rating to join our maintenance team based at Essendon, Melbourne.

Reporting to the Senior Base Engineer (B300 Program), this position plays a vital role in supporting our King Air 350ER special-mission operations conducted on behalf of the Victorian Government.

This is a full-time position based on a periodic roster, including some on-call duties and occasional travel to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and certify maintenance tasks on company aircraft as directed by CAMO planning, ensuring all work complies with CASA regulations, Skytraders' approved CAR30 Maintenance Control and Procedure Manuals, and relevant approved data.
  • Assess technical documentation, including Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives, and provide compliance recommendations.
  • Monitor deferred defects and coordinate planning for rectification actions.
  • Identify and report any safety or quality deficiencies to the Senior Base Engineer and Safety & Quality Systems Manager, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Supervise and mentor Apprentices, AMEs, and contracted maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain all licences, training, and company authorisations required for certification privileges.
  • Support base maintenance activities, including stores, GSE, and other assigned duties.
  • Promote Occupational Health & Safety, DAMP compliance, and the Skytraders Safety Management System (SMS) in all daily operations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • CASA B1 Licence with Beech B300 Type Rating.
  • Strong technical proficiency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a small, high-performing team.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and mission success.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
