Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Estimator or Senior Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team in Wollongong, NSW. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating for civil construction projects with project values ranging from $500k to $15m, emphasizing expertise in renewable energy, especially substation brown and greenfield construction, sewer pump stations and pipes, roadworks. This role entails comprehensive estimation responsibilities, including the development of full submission documentation, program planning, methodology, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive cost estimations and prepare accurate project bids for various civil construction projects within the $500k to $15m range
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and required materials, labor, and equipment
• Develop full submission documentation, including detailed project programs, construction methodologies, and strategic bidding strategies
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for precise estimations and comprehensive submission documentation
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals, and tender submissions in a timely and efficient manner

Evaluate and review project risks, constraints, and opportunities to develop competitive bidding strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of full-time experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction industry, specifically estimating for civil construction projects within the $500k to $15m range
• Expertise or significant exposure to renewable energy projects, particularly in substation brown and greenfield construction, is highly desirable
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools including MS Office Suite, MS Project, Smartsheet, Expert Estimation, Bluebeam.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in assessing project costs, risks, and developing submission documentation
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
