About the Role

We're looking for a Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Berri Estates Winery in South Australia.  



This is a full-time, shift-based role where you'll learn to maintain and repair mechanical systems across our winery operations. 



You'll be supported by experienced mentors and structured learning through TAFE, working toward a nationally recognised qualification while gaining hands-on experience with vintage equipment, pumps, conveyors, and more. 

What You'll Be Doing

Under supervision, you'll: 

  • Perform preventive maintenance on winery machinery
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in tanks, pumps, presses, etc.
  • Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Record maintenance activities and parts usage
  • Support general facility maintenance and inventory management
  • Follow safety, environmental, and food-grade standards

Who We're Looking For

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Completion of Year 11 or 12 with solid Maths & English
  • Pre-vocational course or Cert I/II (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Forklift License (advantageous but not essential)
  • Driver's license 


Personal Attributes: 

  • Team player with a proactive attitude
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment 


Additional Requirements: 

  • Manual handling
  • Willingness to work shifts and undertake safety training
