About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to play an important role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects for our key client in the water and wastewater industry.
In this role, you will mentor junior team members, support project teams by offering expert technical advice and deliver innovative solutions to ensure successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Author Control Systems design deliverables, such as Functional Design Specifications and I/O Lists.
 - Program PLC and RTU systems and configure SCADA and HMI systems in accordance with customer standards and industry best practices.
 - Conduct comprehensive factory and site acceptance testing to ensure the correct functionality of software to project objectives.
 - Consider safety of personnel and assets, and environmental sustainability as a top priority in the execution of all work.
 - Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a supportive learning environment.
 - Share insights, lessons learned and best practices to enhance team performance and encourage collaboration.
 - Manage and prioritise tasks to ensure timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards through reviews and testing.
 - Ensure projects are executed according to ATSYS frameworks and achieving defined milestones.
 - Proactively identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans and ensure minimal impact on project outcomes.
 - Foster trust and collaboration by maintaining open communication with clients and stakeholders, addressing their needs and expectations.
 - Promote safety awareness, ensure compliance with protocols and identify potential risks.
 - Provide technical input and accurate cost estimates for proposals and project deliverables to meet client requirements.
 - Research and integrate new technologies and methods to improve processes and team output.
 - Continuously learn about advancements in vendor technologies and industry trends to apply the latest tools and practices.
 
About You
We are looking for someone that has:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
 - Industry awareness (water and wastewater).
 - Hands-on experience in control systems with technical skills in:
 - Functional Design Specification (FDS) development,
 - PLC and RTU programming,
 - SCADA and HMI configuration, and
 - FAT / SAT testing and commissioning.
 - Experience using vendor technologies such as Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Schneider Electric and/or GE Vernova iFix.
 - CPEng certification or willingness to pursue.
 - A proactive and self-motivated working style.
 - A collaborative approach and the ability to excel in cross-functional environments.
 - Attention to detail with an emphasis on consistency.
 - Innovative mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
