Aged Care Worker

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to residents with their hygiene needs including bathing, dental hygiene, dressing, grooming and personal care.
• Support the maintenance or restoration of residents' independence by providing assistance to engage in activities of interest and use mobility aids where required.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation and report information to relevant Nursing Departments and Management as required.
• Maintain effective communication in the workplace, being respectful, open to change and kind in your approach.
• Assist residents with the administration of correct medication in accordance with policies.

To be successful in the role, you will require the following:

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Care or Individual Support (Aged Care) or Evidence of first year Nursing completion will be considered.
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current NDIS worker screening check
• An understanding of aging and dementia
• Awareness of AN-ACC (desirable)
• Experience working within a person centered, enabling environment
• A current valid Driver's License recognized in Australia - your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience as a Care Worker with a passion for Community Care and supporting vulnerable people
• Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of the English language both verbally and written
• Capable and proficient at working alone in client homes to provide personal care, medication assistance, social support, respite care, shopping support, transport assistance, meal preparation, home-exercise programs and domestic assistance
• Able to work with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical and emotional needs of clients are met
• Adept at building relationships with clients & their families and working together to ensure values, independence & positivity are the heart of your visit
• Skilled at genuine empathetic support during difficult times for clients and their families
• Capacity to be adaptable & flexible
• Police Clearance & Working with Children clearance required.
