About the Role
As a Cableway Attendant, you will be the welcoming face of Skyrail, ensuring guests experience the highest level of safety and service. With comprehensive in-house training provided, you will have the chance to progress to Cableway Operator—responsible for the safe running and monitoring of the cableway operations.
We offer part time opportunities (approx. 30 hours per week) or a casual placement if requested. This role requires weekend and public holiday availability, with duties commencing at both our Smithfield and Kuranda stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver memorable and safe experiences for all Skyrail guests
- Facilitate safe, efficient, and friendly boarding and disembarkation at every station
- Ensure all presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained to the highest level
- Communicate effectively with passengers, team members, and management
- Support operational continuity through inspection, reporting, cabin configuration, and assisting in emergency procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and upskilling, including mechanical, electronic, safety, and evacuation processes
- Uphold and promote Skyrail's environmental and sustainability standards
What We're Looking For
- Residents Only: This position is not open to temporary visa holders or those seeking seasonal work.
- Customer Focus: Warm, enthusiastic, and confident in delivering exceptional service
- Aptitude to Learn: Quick to pick up mechanical and electronic systems, safety protocols, and operational procedures
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in upholding presentation standards, record-keeping, and safety processes
- Team Player: Positive, proactive, and supportive to colleagues and the wider business
- Licences: Must have a current Driver Licence and reliable private transport for travel to Smithfield and Kuranda
- Physical Readiness: Ability to pass a medical and stringent alcohol and drug testing. Comfortable with working at heights and able to participate in all operational duties
- Availability: Willing to work across a flexible Monday to Sunday roster, including public holidays and weekends
- Desirable but not essential: Senior First Aid Certificate, Customer Service qualifications, experience with safety/emergency procedures, rope or abseiling experience
