The Role

As an experienced Shotfirer you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our blasting operations by ensuring our blasts are fired safely on schedule and without issue. You'll report to the Shift Supervisor / Site Manager and provide support to the wider crew.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the loading, tying and firing of blasts by following blast patterns
  • Handle explosives and prepare for blasts, ensuring all safety and legislative requirements are upheld
  • Pre and post inspection of blasts and maintenance of records
  • Working collaboratively with the crew to achieve daily targets

What You'll Need

Must-haves:

  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current Shotfirer licence, S1, 2, 3 and G2
  • Open drivers licence with no restrictions
  • Standard 11 or willingness to obtain
  • QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks.
  • Previous experience as a shotfirer

Good to have:

  • Experience in quarrying or hard rock shotfiring in an open cut mining environment.
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Relevant RII's for Shotfiring e.g. RIIBLA301E – Conduct Surface Shotfiring Operations
  • Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers' licence
