Makekadi Mining Services (MMS) is seeking a proactive Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to support our growing operations across Civil Construction, Labour, and Heritage business units. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a role where safety leadership and operational excellence go hand in hand.
About the Role
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will work closely with operational leaders, site teams, and Health and Safety Representatives to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and industry practices.
Construction industry experience is preferred to deliver risk-based safety solutions that are practical, effective, and site-ready.
This role is ideal for a junior safety professional with experience in the construction industry who is ready to take the next step in their career as a HSE Advisor.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of WHS strategies, policies, and procedures across the project site.

Facilitate and oversee Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's), risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Ensure systems, documentation, and safety performance meet legislative requirements.

Support early intervention and injury management processes, including Return to Work coordination when required.

Engage with site-based teams to foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous safety improvement.
What You'll Bring

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (a Diploma or WHS related degree is highly regarded).

White Card
-
Return to Work Coordinator certification (or willingness to obtain).

Proven WHS experience within construction environments - civil, infrastructure, or major projects.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, audit processes, and performance standards for employers.

Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels—from frontline workers to senior leaders.

High attention to detail, with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex safety concepts into clear, practical actions.
