Join NUsport in leading the way in fitness, health, and wellbeing at the University of Newcastle. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fitness Manager to lead our dynamic fitness team and drive the future of our fitness service delivery.
In this full-time role, you will balance operational management with on-the-floor delivery shifts, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and the University community. You will shape the direction of NUsport's fitness programs, build our Corporate Wellness Program, enhance student engagement, and strengthen our connection with the broader University of Newcastle community.
What we're looking for:
- Proven leadership experience in the fitness or sport & recreation sector.
- Strong operational management skills and a passion for people development.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding member and client experiences.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and adapt to varying environments.
- Availability for a Monday–Friday roster, with occasional weekend work.
What you'll do:
• Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team including the Group Fitness Manager, Gym Instructors, and Exercise Physiologists.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple NUsport locations.
• Build and grow NUsport's Corporate Wellness Program to expand community engagement and organisational partnerships.
• Develop and deliver engaging programs and initiatives to support student, staff, and community wellbeing.
• Balance administrative responsibilities with active delivery on the gym floor.
