About the Role:

We are seeking a
Senior Python Developer
to join our leading client's high-performing engineering team based in
Sydney
. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in
Python development
, strong understanding of
software design principles
, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a hybrid work environment.

You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and integrations that power mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python-based applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Data, and Product to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentoring junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems for performance and scalability.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and refine technical requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years
    of professional experience in
    Python
    software development.
  • Strong expertise with frameworks such as
    Django
    ,
    Flask
    , or
    FastAPI
    .
  • Solid understanding of
    RESTful APIs
    ,
    microservices architecture
    , and
    SQL/NoSQL databases
    (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Proficient in
    Git
    ,
    CI/CD pipelines
    , and familiarity with
    Docker
    or
    Kubernetes
    .
  • Experience with
    cloud platforms
    (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work 3–4 days onsite in Sydney.
