The Opportunity

Harry the Hirer is modernising our core technology platform to power the next decade of growth in events & experiences. You'll be a senior software engineer who brings AI-enabled software development practices into a high-impact transformation—shipping .NET/Azure Cloud based modern platform using AI based tooling and practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and unlock smarter workflows for our business and customers.

Your role centres around using your learnt and proven software engineering skills to experiment with and productionise AI tool-based software engineering practices, building the technology platform that will replace our existing ERP system. You'll be part of an existing software development team that has started the transformation journey to reimagine and build the technology platform.

Collaboration with business and keen interest to learn from peers about the hiring industry and processes will set you up for the success in this role.

What you'll do

• Build core ERP modules: Design and deliver modern platform using .NET technologies, including C#, .NET Core, Blazor, APIs, UIs on Azure.
• Use AI to ship faster & smarter: Apply coding copilots, prompt/tool chains, and agentic patterns to speed delivery, improve test coverage, reduce tech debt, and harden security.
• Add intelligence to the platform: Implement practical GenAI/ML features (e.g., retrieval-augmented search over docs, schedule/stock recommendations, anomaly flags for orders/invoices, smart forms).
• Own quality & reliability: Automated testing, CI/CD (DevOps/ADO), IaC (Bicep/Terraform), observability (AppInsights/Log Analytics), secure-by-default patterns.
• Raise the bar: Coach engineers on AI-assisted workflows, code review standards, and modern .NET/Azure practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Product, Ops, Warehouse/Logistics, and Finance to translate outcomes into software.

What you'll bring

• AI-enabled engineering: Daily user of tools like Cursor/Continue/GitHub Copilot; comfortable with prompt design, codegen, testgen, refactors, and guardrails. Show us how you put your engineering skills and intelligence to drive outcomes from artificial intelligence.
• Extensive .NET web experience & Azure Public Cloud build and run experience.
• Azure practitioner: Deployed production workloads using App Services/AKS, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, APIM, Event Grid/Service Bus, Entra.
• LLM integration experience: Built features using Azure OpenAI/OSS models; familiarity with RAG (vector stores, chunking, embeddings), orchestration (Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LlamaIndex), and agentic patterns where appropriate.
• Data & MLOps fundamentals: Versioned datasets/models, basic evaluation/monitoring, secure handling of PII; pragmatic about buy-vs-build.
• DevEx & craftsmanship: CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, observability; you leave things simpler, faster, and safer than you found them.
• Communication & leadership: Able to shape designs, mentor peers, and make trade-offs explicit.
• Event-driven architectures, DDD, CQRS; experience modernising legacy ERP/line-of-business systems.

• Hybrid (Melbourne) with purposeful in-office collaboration for discovery/design, code reviews, and showcases.
• Work closely with Head of Technology, Team Leads and CTO to build new experiences and ideas.
