About the role

Everett's Family Law is seeking a talented and experienced Legal Secretary to join our dynamic team in Mackay, Queensland. As a full-time Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals and ensuring the efficient running of our busy family law practice.

What you'll be doing

  1. Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our team of family law solicitors
  2. Preparing and formatting legal documents, such as correspondence, contracts, and court filings
  3. Managing client files and maintaining accurate records
  4. Handling telephone enquiries and providing excellent client service
  5. Scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings, and court appearances
  6. Assisting with billing and other financial tasks as required
  7. Performing general office duties to support the smooth operation of the practice

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar administrative role within a law firm or family law practice
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, solicitors, and other stakeholders
  3. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently
  4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and legal-specific software
  5. Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  6. A genuine interest in the legal field and a commitment to providing exceptional client service
