Despatch Supervisor

Thornton based Steel manufacturing company, Steeline Hunter is seeking an experienced Despatch Supervisor to lead our transport and delivery operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll ensure our fleet runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule – keeping our customers happy and our team motivated.
What You'll Do- Supervise day-to-day dispatch and delivery operations.
- Plan and schedule daily runs to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure trucks are loaded safely and in compliance with legislation.
- Monitor driver fatigue and workplace safety standards.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to keep deliveries on track.
- Oversee fleet servicing and maintenance schedules.
- Lead, motivate, and support drivers – managing performance, leave, and development.
- Promote a safe, positive, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Minimum 3 years' leadership or supervisory experience in dispatch, transport, or logistics.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and adapt to peak periods.
- Experience leading and motivating a team.
- Knowledge of transport compliance and safety standards.
- Manufacturing or fleet management background (desirable).
