This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.
CCLHD is seeking a dynamic, passionate and positive senior (Level 3) Occupational Therapist to support and lead in our Mental Health Service. Structured supervision, mentoring, supported CPD and leadership development are encouraged in this role.
About The Opportunity
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to leverage their existing skills and make a meaningful contribution in the rewarding field of mental health. You will join a supportive, collaborative multidisciplinary team on the older adult mental health unit, Miri Miri, at Wyong Hospital.
In this role, you will apply advanced clinical expertise to deliver recovery-focused assessment and intervention for older adults with diverse mental health and functional needs. You will lead by example; providing expert guidance, mentoring junior staff, and championing the growth and visibility of Occupational Therapy within the mental health setting.
With a strong emphasis on functional assessment, therapeutic group and individual interventions, and consumer-centred care planning, this role is ideal for clinicians seeking to broaden their scope, embrace leadership responsibilities, and make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals, families and carers.
