About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Food Technology Assistant to join our dynamic team at Carwatha College P-12. This part-time role will involve supporting our Food Technology program and assisting students in developing their culinary skills and knowledge. As our Food Technology Assistant, you will play a crucial part in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and maintaining the Food Technology classroom and equipment for practical lessons
  • Assisting teachers in delivering hands-on food preparation and cooking activities
  • Providing guidance and support to students during practical lessons to ensure their safety and skill development
  • Ensuring the Food Technology classroom and equipment are cleaned and well-maintained
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing orders for necessary food and equipment supplies
  • Collaborating with teachers to enhance the Food Technology curriculum and student learning outcomes

What we're looking for

  • Relevant experience in a food preparation or catering role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to efficiently manage the Food Technology classroom
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with teachers and students
  • A keen interest in food, cooking, and a commitment to fostering students' culinary skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
