RIYASAT is an Indian Restaurant based in THOMASTOWN, VIC. We are looking for a Full-time chef who can work as a Curry Chef. The chef must be able to cook variety of Indian curry's using various spices and sauces using authentic Indian cooking methods.
In addition to creating and preparing dishes you must be able to interact with restaurant staff or customers if needed, work in pressurized situations, be good at team work and have business skills to order supplies, maintain stock, establish budgets and quote prices for items cooked.
Qualifications & experience
A minimum 2 years cooking experience (must have experience in Indian style cooking)
Creative Flair
Strong-work ethic
Ability to run sections in a high paced kitchen
Excellent time Management skills
Passion, energy and a desire to perform at the highest standard.
Tasks & responsibilities
Experience in running sections in high paced kitchens at the highest standard.
Standardize the portion of the dish according to the weight and cost.
Monitoring quality of dishes, including preparation and presentation.
Compliance with the hygiene practices of the organization. Keeping proper record of the inventory.
Maintaining the equipment's and work area to neat and clean to ensure the kitchen is maintained at specific level of hygiene
Organize timely staff member meetings.
Reporting management about any incident occurred that can cause a safety issue at workplace.
Smooth delivery of prepared food to the customers according to their orders
Maintaining high cooking standards and memorizing the specifications of all the popular menu items.
Good Communication Skills.
Salary Package within the range of $75, $80, Superannuation.
