We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Learning to lead curriculum development and teaching excellence at our Garnsey Campus. This senior leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the academic direction of our school and support staff in delivering high-impact learning experiences.
About the Role
The Head of Learning plays a pivotal role in the strategic development, evaluation, and enhancement of curriculum and pedagogy across the campus. Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the successful candidate will lead best-practice teaching and learning, support staff development, and contribute to the broader educational vision of Gippsland Grammar. This role also incorporates a 0.2FTE teaching load.
Key Responsibilities Educational Leadership
- Lead and support curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting aligned with best practice.
- Mentor teachers to deliver differentiated learning experiences.
- Guide curriculum mapping and use of learning management systems.
- Support new staff induction and professional growth.
- Foster strategic partnerships with tertiary, industry, and community organisations.
Organisational Leadership
- Collaborate with Head of Campus and Deputy Principal on curriculum strategy.
- Lead Heads of Department and VCE/VET Coordinator in academic planning.
- Coordinate practice exams and data analysis.
- Represent the School at key events and parent information sessions.
Professional & Pastoral Responsibilities
- Model continuous improvement and professional learning.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students.
- Actively contribute to co-curricular programs and school-wide initiatives.

Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Education.
- Proven leadership experience in curriculum development.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive innovation.
- Commitment to the values and ethos of Gippsland Grammar.
