Feather and Bone is a family-owned retail butchery and food business with a shop and production facility in Marrickville, Sydney, along with a second retail store in Waverely.

We source our produce from regeneratively-managed farms that are run as sustainable ecosystems, where all animals are raised outside on pasture and treated humanely. We are a 'for purpose' business with a clear vision that drives every choice we make. We're a small business with a big ambition.

This role is responsible for packing and fulfilling all our online retail orders in a timely and accurate manner for delivery to our customers. This role involves handling meat, chickens, eggs and other products. You'll be an integral part of our Production Team, working closely with our Butchers, Packers, Logistics Manager, and Retail Manager.

Hours

This casual role is based at our Marrickville production facility with 3-5 days per week of work. For the right candidate there is the potential to grow into a full-time role.

Regular working hours are: Monday to Friday, 6.30 am pm

Key activities
  • Picking and packing all retail orders for dispatch and collection, ensuring all boxes are clearly labelled.
  • Assisting the Production Supervisor to liaise with the butchers in fulfilling orders.
  • Packing and labelling cuts of meat for retail sale.
  • Advising Production Supervisor when consumables need reordering.
  • Helping stock our retail shops and assisting to maintain stock levels in Revel POS.
  • Communicate order substitutions and changes to customers.
  • Assist in daily set up and clean down of the production area.
  • Work in an efficient, tidy and hygienic way in accordance with Food Safety standards.
What you need to be successful in this role
  • Good work ethic, efficient worker and accurate with a good eye for detail.
  • Ability to read orders and follow instructions.
  • Experience picking and packing food products (particularly meat) is preferred.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a small team.
  • Good computer literacy and skills (Excel and Revel POS or equivalent)
  • Ability to work in a cool environment and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Be active and able to lift up to 12 kg boxes.
  • A current NSW C Class Drivers Licence is highly desirable.
  • A passion for purpose-grounded work.
