About the role

Permanent full time opportunity leading the general surgery program at Caboolture Hospital, reporting directly to the Executive Director (operationally) and Director of Medical Services (professionally).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Staffing and Budget Responsibilities: Manage budget, HR functions, and medical staff within the Department of Surgery.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead performance, staffing, and departmental representation across clinical and leadership forums.
  • Quality and Safety: Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and experience initiatives at Caboolture Hospital.
  • Education, Training and Research: Oversee education standards, staff development, supervision, and promote clinical research.
  • Planning, Resourcing and Reporting: Ensure effective planning, governance, and resource allocation within budget.
  • After Hours and On-Call Requirements: Participate in 30-minute recall on-call roster; accommodation available if required.
