Are you ready to lead IT operations that directly empower educational excellence and digital transformation? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Operations Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality ICT services across multiple campuses.

As the second-in-command to the Head of IT, you will oversee the operational delivery of all ICT services, drive continuous improvement through ITIL-aligned processes, and help transform the IT function from a reactive model to a mature, service-oriented framework that supports future growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily ICT operations to ensure availability, security, and performance across all school campuses.
  • Oversee helpdesk functions and implement a tiered support model integrating internal staff and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
  • Drive operational excellence through ITIL-aligned service management, incident and change management processes.
  • Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and manage critical incident response with minimal business disruption.
  • Oversee vendor and supplier relationships, ensuring SLAs and performance targets are met.
  • Manage documentation, service catalogues, and dashboards tracking service performance and user satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and operational standards (ISO 27001, Essential 8).

About You

You are a seasoned ICT professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, with strong technical and leadership skills and a passion for service excellence. You can balance hands-on operations with strategic oversight, leading your team with clarity, accountability, and care.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in IT, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT operations and service delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and ITSM best practices.
  • Proven leadership experience — mentoring teams, managing vendors, and driving performance.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS), networking, and enterprise-grade cybersecurity systems.
  • Solid knowledge of change, incident, and problem management.
  • Vendor certifications (Microsoft and/or Cisco) desirable.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Blue Card or relevant registration, has valid driver's licence, and right to work in Australia.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting multi-campus environments.
  • Master's degree or additional certifications in ITIL, ISO 27001, or Essential 8 compliance.
  • Experience working with or managing MSPs.
