The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Regional Manager to be part of our Fisheries & Aquaculture Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high level staff leadership and management to a team of Fisheries Officers and Compliance staff to ensure delivery of critical compliance programs, services, projects and activities across an assigned Region and within assigned budget. The role contributes delivering the agency's priorities including:
- Regulatory excellence and reforms of our legislative framework and programs to drive efficiency, effectiveness and unlock potential.
- Build partnerships with industry, stakeholders, research organizations and regional communities.
- Organizational performance as a modern, flexible and responsive organization that values and develops its people

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Ongoing opportunity
- Full time 37.5 hours per week.
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work including weekends / public holidays may be required.
- Significant inter / intrastate travel may be required, working in remote areas and at times under harsh conditions including at sea.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations
- The position is based in a designated metropolitan or regional area, but the incumbent may be required to transfer to another location as required (Stations are located across the State).
- Regional Managers participate in the FISHWATCH roster.
- At short notice, the incumbent will be required to be part of a marine search and rescue operations in accordance with the PIRSA Emergency Response Plans and the Memorandum of Understanding with SAPOL and the Department for Planning Transport & Infrastructure.
- Agency uniform must be worn to provide a visible presence in the community when required.
Remuneration
ASO7 - $108,109 min - $116,864 max per annum, plus superannuation
