Audit Director – Private Practice

We are seeking an experienced and driven
Audit Director
to join our leadership team and play a key role. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior audit professional to oversee high-profile engagements, mentor a talented team, and contribute to the continued growth of our practice.

About the Role

  • Manage end-to-end external audit engagements across a diverse range of industries
  • Lead, mentor, and support a small team of auditors with a hands-on approach
  • Liaise directly with clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships
  • Prepare reports for senior management and attend Board meetings
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to meet client deadlines
  • Identify and address audit risks, recommending effective solutions
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting and audit regulations and standards
  • Contribute to the development of audit methodologies and best practices
  • Support business development activities, including proposals, networking, and presentations
  • Work closely with the Partner to drive the growth and success of the audit division

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • CA qualification with
    10+ years' post-qualification experience
    in external audit
  • Registration (or working towards) as a Company and SMSF Auditor
  • A proven track record in leading and managing audit engagements within public practice
  • Experience in Due Diligence, Valuations, or advisory services (desirable)
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
  • Proficiency in CaseWare, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools
  • Deep knowledge of audit and accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Full working rights in Australia
