The role |

We are currently seeking a 2-4 years PAE lawyers to join our Life Sciences, Privacy and Dispute Resolution team in Sydney working directly with Mandi Jacobson (Partner) and Danielle Kuti (Special Counsel).

The team provides both front end advice/ compliance advice and litigation services to its clients and has a broad client base in the life sciences, consumer goods, and technology sectors. Recent matters include: defending a client in a Federal Court proceeding, coronial inquests, preparing privacy agreements, providing advice regarding classification of medical devices, recalls and withdrawals, suspensions and cancellations, section 60 reviews under the Therapeutic Goods Act, investigations and audits, product defects, pricing and reimbursement, and clinical trials. The team also advises companies that manufacture and supply consumer goods throughout Australia, including in relation to product defects and product liability, advertising, compliance with Australian and international standards, import and export requirements, advertising and promotion, product recalls and withdrawals, and misleading and deceptive conduct, across a range of industries including food and beverage, cosmetic, electronics, and automobile. Mandi represents companies that are being investigated and prosecuted by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission, as well as state bodies and agencies.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-4 years PAE and experience in commercial litigation or regulatory team within a law firm;
  • Knowledge of therapeutic goods legislation;
  • Knowledge of Australia's privacy regime;
  • Experience preparing a variety of commercial contracts (supply agreements, privacy policies);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • A high level of attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously;
  • Commercial acumen;
  • Client facing skills.

The successful candidate for this position will be self-motivated and proactive, with the confidence and ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, and possess strong organisational, time-management and multi-tasking skills.
