Downer Professional Services is proud to be Defence's strategic workforce partner within Joint Systems Division, following a competitive tender process. As part of this win, Team Downer MSP now support two critical system program offices within the JC4S Branch:

• Integrated Command, Control and Communications Systems Program Office (IC3 SPO)
• Integrated Warfighting Networks Systems Program Office (IWN SPO)

These SPOs deliver secure, integrated communications and enable seamless coordination across the Australian Defence Force. This is a proud milestone for our team as we continue to drive mission-critical capability forward.

We are seeking permanent Project Support Officers, Project Managers and Program Managers based in Canberra to support this Integrated Work Package.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Providing expert project management, project documentation, scheduling and estimation to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are kept accountable and delivered
• Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management or policy development for the project, providing advice on innovation and business improvement
• Support the preparation and drafting of complex correspondence, submissions or changes during the project
• Plan, development, coordinate and deliver on end-to-end project management lifecycle
• Represent the team and SPO as required to contribute to internal and external stakeholder groups on project related updates, deliveries and changes.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Project Management or Project Support in a Defence environment, certifications in Agile, PRINC2, PMBOK will be highly regarded
• Related degree or qualification in project management, project support or defence related disciplines
• Understanding of the capability life cycle and One Defence principles
• Experience in governance, risk management and scheduling to manage SOPs, risks, issues, compliance and project timelines
• Strong stakeholder management capability with clear written and verbal communication skills

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
