About The Role

• We have built a new social media and location-sharing platform that is truly innovative and novel that will launch in Q4 2025.
• You will be joining a core team of Android and iOS engineers where you will have a significant amount of autonomy and input.
• You will be involved in the ongoing development of our Android products and be a key member of the team.
• We encourage creative thinking and support lateral thinkers who can build out solutions in a scalable and modular way.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that align with our mission of privacy, security and innovation.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across a wide range of Android devices and versions.
• Write UI, Unit and Functional Tests to ensure optimal quality output.
• Investigate, debug and fix user-reported production issues.
• Stay at the forefront of Android development trends, tools and frameworks.
• Contribute to and uphold best practices for coding, testing, and software design.
• Be an active member of the team, ready to share you knowledge and ideas.

What we are looking for…

• Significant experience developing, deploying and maintaining apps with the Android SDK in Kotlin.
• Bonus points if you have experience playing with Jetpack Compose, Room, and Google Maps.
• Double bonus points if you have a background implementing encryption.
• Experience building exceptional and maintainable apps.
• Experience with modern software development techniques and project design patterns.
• Solid product/design instincts and a desire to be involved in product decisions.
• Understand the principles and process associated with continuous integration.
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
• Be self-motivated, and deliver against mutually agreed timeframes.
• Extra bonus points if you've worked in a rapidly growing company where time is of the essence.

This role is based in Melbourne, Australia and working from the office will be required. The office is located opposite Flinders Street Station in Southbank. You will be provided with the flexibility to work from home based on the nature of your work schedule. A high-end MacBook Pro with dual 43" monitors, test devices and any other necessary equipment will be supplied.

Remuneration

• 5k Starting Bonus, 6 + 12mth Bonus
• 125k - 175k Base + Bonuses (10k - 25k) + Super
  
  (well over 200k package at the higher end)
