Classification & Pay Grade:
- RPN4 / P3 / OT3 / SW3
- Pay range: Approx. $101,597 – $123,916 + super (as per EBA)

Forensicare (Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health) is Victoria's specialist provider of forensic mental health services. We deliver recovery-focused programs for people living with serious mental illness or problematic behaviours who are connected to, or at risk of contact with, the justice system. Our services span community programs, inpatient units, and secure environments across Victoria. At Forensicare, we value collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to improving outcomes for consumers and the community.
About the Role:
Join Forensicare as a Senior Intake Clinician and play a pivotal role in ensuring timely, safe, and appropriate access to our community programs. You'll be the central point for referrals, applying advanced clinical judgment and risk assessment to manage complex cases. This autonomous role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and triage referrals using a structured risk-need-urgency matrix.
- Provide expert consultation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with clinical standards.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
- Current registration with AHPRA (Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy) or AASW eligibility for Social Work.
- Minimum 5–7 years post-registration experience in mental health or forensic practice.
- Advanced understanding of forensic mental health principles and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
