Principal Infrastructure Services Officer

A great opportunity for a highly motivated Principal Infrastructure Services Officer to join a dynamic team within a major Queensland government department. In this role, you will lead the development of policies, strategies, and methodologies to ensure effective asset management and maintenance practices across a range of centres. You will play a pivotal role in planning, evaluating, and improving maintenance programs while providing high-level advice to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review comprehensive policies, strategies, and program plans that underpin effective maintenance management for key centres.
- Propose evidence-based improvements to existing maintenance programs by conducting thorough evaluations and data analysis.
- Create robust methodologies for allocating maintenance funding to this departments facilities, ensuring resources are distributed equitably and efficiently.
- Develop clear business rules and performance indicators to manage relationships with service delivery partners such as QBuild.
- Lead a small team dedicated to long-term planning and the development of a forward pipeline of maintenance work across multiple sites.
- Analyse complex data from the Asset Life Cycle Assessment process to inform strategic investment decisions for infrastructure assets.
- Produce high-quality reports tailored for internal stakeholders as well as senior management, providing actionable insights into asset performance and maintenance outcomes.
- Offer strategic advice on asset maintenance policies to support lifecycle planning initiatives throughout the division.
- Prepare ministerial correspondence, briefing materials, and detailed reports related to maintenance programs for government review.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between policy objectives and operational delivery.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate programs, analyse data, and develop evidence-based strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills for consultation, negotiation, and preparing high-level reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary asset management strategies and concepts.
- Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and reporting on maintenance programs effectively.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and stakeholder relationships.
