Job Summary

The Echo Tech performs quality echocardiographic studies as ordered by the physicians as well as the performance of all other non-invasive cardiac procedures within the Cardiology Department

Essential Functions  

Performs echocardiographic studies considering the age-specific physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the patientConsistently performs quality Doppler and color Doppler ExamsMaintains competence in all other procedures performed in the Cardiology DepartmentDemonstrates understanding of cardiac disease processes in order to obtain complete acquisition of images for clinical diagnosis by the reading cardiologistReports pertinent information or changes of patient's condition to physician, nurse and/or supervisor/senior tech incorporating age-specific informationHas a basic understanding of acquired imagesReports findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations  

Must read, write and speak fluent EnglishInterpersonal communication skills in order to effectively instruct patients and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkersMust have good and regular attendancePerforms other related duties as assigned
