Camp Chef

The role

As a Camp Chef - DIDO (Drive in, Drive out) at Wolfram Limited, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals for our on-site workforce at our Mt Carlton Mine, Queensland location. This is a full-time role that will involve working on a rotating roster (8/6) to provide our employees with nutritious and delicious meals throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals for our on-site workforce, adhering to food safety and quality standards
2. Manage and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities to ensure they are clean, well-organised and in good working order
3. Collaborate with the camp management team to understand dietary requirements and preferences of our employees
4. Ensure all food is stored, prepared and served in a hygienic manner
5. Maintain detailed records of inventory, food ordering and wastage
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our camp catering services

What we're looking for

1. Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or catering
2. Extensive experience working as a chef or cook in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a camp or remote setting
3. Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle the demands of a busy kitchen
4. Strong communication and team management abilities
5. Commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
7. Must be able to pass mine site medical
8. Local to Townsville, Bowen or Ayr.
