Our client is a well-established, family-owned food distribution and manufacturing business, specialising in gourmet, artisan, and speciality foods. Known for their commitment to quality and food safety, they are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to drive their safety, compliance, and quality initiatives across the business.
Due to their recent expansion, this newly created role will oversee and drive continual improvement of the health, safety, environment, quality and HR aspects of their organisation, ensuring that effective HSEQ and HR management systems are in place for all divisions.
This role undertakes and directs complex and diverse audits, investigations and inspections unique to the production industry and ensures compliance with the applicable legislation, regulations, processes and controls.
In this role, you will work closely with the leadership team, employees, and suppliers to maintain and improve HSEQ standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You'll manage and enhance food safety systems, WHS policies, and quality frameworks, translating complex regulatory obligations into practical, day-to-day operations.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is both strategic and operational and requires a demonstrated working knowledge and credentials in;
- WHS, environmental science, human resource or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Knowledge of HSEQ management system, hazard & risk management, HSEQ audits, incident investigation, management of change, HSEQ training, crisis & emergency management protocols and ISO Standards.
- Working knowledge of HR legislation and upcoming changes, including Award interpretation and application and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
This role is ideal for an individual with HSEQ experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution who enjoys influencing stakeholders, delivering training, and making a tangible impact on operational safety and quality. Travel to production and warehouse sites will be part of your role, along with collaborating across diverse teams.
