Journey Early Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our Durack Heights team in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, that inspire young minds and contributes to the growth and development of all children within the kindergarten age group.

Centre Overview:

Our newer, purpose-built 66 place centre is a place where children aged from six weeks to six years can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity. We are located on Packard Avenue, Durack, with modern indoor and outdoor play environments that support learning in a stimulating, play-focused setting.

Engaging with the wider community, our centre is involved in weekly incursions that promote new and enriching experiences. Our supportive and collaborative team love to celebrate achievements with monthly morning-tea's and lunches. We also offer a yearly roster with specific set shifts.

About the role:

As the Early Childhood Teacher, your primary focus will be to provide a safe and stimulating environment which meets the social, cultural, emotional, educational and physical needs of the children. You will be responsible for the creation and execution of our educational programs that support the overall wellbeing, growth, and education of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Create, develop and implement high quality and engaging educational programs
  • Facilitate play-based learning environments that are responsive to children's interest, strengths, and abilities
  • Observing and documenting children's progress and development
  • Fostering positive relationships with children, families and the community
  • Develop and participate in a variety of community projects and initiatives
  • Be part of a collaborative teaching and interactive learning environment

About you:

You are a creative and inspired Early Childhood Teacher with a passion to lead and develop high quality age specific programs and daily routines. You will be a collaborative member of the team, working to build strong relationships with Educators, children and families.

Key skills and requirements:

  • ACECQA Approved Bachelor's/ Master's Degree or Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience
  • Current Working with Children Check – Ochre Card
  • Outstanding level of verbal and written communication
  • Strong Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
  • Strong computer skills
  • Current approved First Aid Certificate
  • Current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
