Looking for a hands-on role where you can make a real difference in your community? Join our South team as a Senior Wastewater Services Operator and help keep Tasmania's water and sewer systems running smoothly, safely, and sustainably. 

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the Coordinator and helping lead the Wastewater East operations team. You'll assist with day-to-day planning, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contribute to the smooth running of infrastructure and services, such as wastewater treatment plants and pumps stations.   • Support scheduling, rostering, and coordination of daily wastewater activities
  • Assist with compliance, reporting, and operational record-keeping
  • Operate and monitor wastewater infrastructure to meet regulatory standards
  • Conduct sampling and asset condition assessments
  • Provide administrative and project support, including contractor supervision

We're seeking someone with a strong background in operational leadership, ideally within wastewater services, or similar operational environment, who's confident working both with people and infrastructure. You'll be safety-conscious, technically skilled, and comfortable in a hands-on environment. A collaborative mindset and a readiness to support continuous improvement are key.

  • Experience in supervising operational teams and managing people
  • Practical and transferrable trade or technical knowledge
  • Strong communication, administrative, and computer skills
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Physically capable of working in varied outdoor conditions and holding a valid driver's licence

About the role

  • To be successful and safe in this position, you'll need to pass a pre-employment medical assessment before you can start and you'll need to commit to participating in on-call and planned overtime rosters, responding to emergency call-out situations.
  • This permanent full-time role offers a 9-day fortnight and a total remuneration package ranging from $96,694.49 to $102,066.44(including of 15.5% superannuation). The package reflects an hourly rate starting at $41.88, with an increase to $44.21 following successful completion of probation.
  • On call, call out and additional team specific allowances are available.
