Your New Role
In this pivotal role, you'll ensure Aware Super is ahead of the curve on regulatory risk—building strong, transparent relationships with key regulators and supporting our commitment to compliance excellence. You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic insights and leading the way in regulatory engagement and risk management.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and nurture relationships with key industry regulators (APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, ATO, OAIC and more), acting as the central point of contact for Aware Super
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of our regulatory engagement strategy and program
- Monitor, analyse and communicate regulatory changes and expectations ensuring our Board, Executives and Senior Leaders are always informed and prepared
- Provide expert guidance to business areas on managing regulatory and compliance risk, embedding a culture of accountability and awareness
- Champion the 3 Lines of Accountability model and foster a culture of risk awareness and incident management
- Deliver accurate, timely reporting to committees and the Board on compliance and regulatory matters
How do you exceed our expectations?
You are a seasoned regulatory affairs and compliance professional with experience in the financial services industry, including exposure to superannuation and investments.
You have a deep understanding of Australia's complex regulatory landscape, including SIS and Corporations Act requirements, and a proven track record as a key liaison with financial regulators.
Additionally, you will have:
- 7+ years' experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in a senior risk/compliance role, including people leadership
- Deep knowledge of superannuation legislation, regulatory obligations, and industry expectations
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with regulators and industry groups
- Excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills
- Results-focused, resilient under pressure, and able to manage competing priorities
- A collaborative, innovative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment
