The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded, data-driven
Senior Merchandise Planner
to join the team at Oroton. Report into the
Head of Planning
, this newly-created role will be critical in driving sales and profitability across all channels through strategic planning, forecasting, and inventory management. You'll collaborate with key teams including Buying, Design, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure our product offering delivers on both customer expectations and commercial goals. A strong communicator and analyst, you'll deliver insights that influence product strategy and help shape the future of the brand.

This is a

position based in our
Chippendale Head Office in Sydney

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage seasonal merchandise plans by category and channel
  • Set and track financial targets including sales, margin, and inventory
  • Partner with Buyers to deliver balanced and profitable product assortments
  • Analyse historical and market data to inform range planning decisions
  • Manage inventory levels, replenishment, and core product performance
  • Deliver weekly trade reporting and insights to guide trading actions
  • Track key KPIs such as sell-through, margin, and markdowns
  • Collaborate across Planning, Buying, Design, Finance, and Marketing
  • Mentor Junior Planners and support cross-functional projects

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience in merchandise planning, ideally in fashion or accessories
  • Advanced Excel and planning system skills; strong analytical capability
  • Commercial mindset with a deep understanding of customer and trend drivers
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities in a fast-paced environment
  • A problem-solver who thrives in a business going through transformation
  • Strong attention to detail and strategic thinking
  • Willingness to take initiative and drive process improvement
