Casual Disability Support Worker

We are looking for an experienced Support Worker who are able to support and assist people with a disability in a work environment to achieve their goals and maintain production.

Your new job

This role will be responsible for guiding, mentoring and supervising supported staff to achieve employment goals and maintain safety and productivity in the recycling area, secondhand shop and ironing service.

The salary range being offered for this casual position is $ $44.26 gross per hour plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).

You

  • To assist with the supervision of supported employees in the recycling shed to ensure work activities are carried out in accordance with Council's safety requirements;
  • To assist with the gathering of case based evidence (notes) to support and maintain the funding agreement through NDIS;
  • Undertake training, as required, of supported workers in line with carer plans developed by the Disability Support Coordinator.
  • Cover other staff leave at Ironed Out and Recycling, as required;
  • To assist with the general support needs of the supported employees employed through Councils Australian Disability Enterprise;
  • Assist Production Team Leader to maximise production through training, rostering, coaching and mentoring of supported workers.
  • To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement.

This role requires a completed NDIS Worker Screening and the NDIS Worker Orientation prior to appointment.

Must complete a Police Criminal History Check.

Must complete a Working with Children Check.
