Job Description:
A Hybrid Cloud Sales or Presales Consultants are product, services, software or solution specialists that are responsible for leading or assisting pursuits in their assigned focus areas.
In the role you will collaborate with Account Managers and provide specialist expertise within the sales team. Drives proactive campaigns to build the pipeline, uses specialized knowledge and skills to prospect, qualify, negotiate and close opportunities. May have named accounts allocated, cover a designated geography, or may be allocated to one high-potential, competitive attack account.
They are responsible for selling hybrid cloud offerings including HPE GreenLake as-a-service solutions, Managed Services and Advisory and Professional Services to end-user customers (and/or partners) in an assigned geographic territory or industry focusing on new business or up-selling within an account. The position requires a solid understanding of HPE's services value proposition and how customers make use of hybrid cloud capabilities. Knowledge of marketing campaigns to align initiatives with account planning activities is also required. The Services Consultant develops consultative customer proposals, tailoring strategy and solutions to meet the needs of the customer. They understand the customer's business challenges /objectives to provide value added services and solutions.
The role has been as a mix of Sales and Pre-Sales. If your experience lends itself more to building the solution and leveraging the Account Manager to perform the sale, then equally we are on the lookout for this level of expertise.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and driving their sales pipeline or working in a pre-sales capacity of pipeline driven by the Account Managers.
- Maintains knowledge of competitors in account to strategically position the company's products and services better.
- Provide support to Account managers and provide input regarding business development and solution expertise.
- Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry.
- May invest time working with and leveraging external partners to deliver sale.
- You will also have a small portfolio of existing customers from which to focus contract renewals and upsell.
Education and Experience Required:
- University or Bachelor's degree a preference but not mandatory.
- A person 3-5 years out of an Industry Graduate role with sales or pre sales experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Has a good understanding of data centre Information Technology
- Willingness to learn the industry and market segment in which key accounts are situated, and integrates this knowledge into consultative selling.
- Willingness to learn program/project management methods and processes to define, plan, cost, resource, track and ensure successful pursuit.
- Cultivates & maintains positive relationships with customers to ensure account retention & growth, and positions the company as the preferred vendor for meeting all business needs.
- Willingness to learn service or product knowledge and shows professionalism in researching and sharing service-related information with account teams and customers.
- Understands how to leverage the company's portfolio and change the playing field on our competitors.
