About the role

As the Engineering Procurement Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting SA Pathology's procurement and contract activities, specialising in the acquisition of biomedical equipment, reagent consumables, and other essential items required by our laboratories. Your work will ensure that all procurement processes align with the Department of Treasury and Finance Procurement Framework, contributing to seamless and compliant operations across multiple financial years.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in asset procurement for pathology laboratories, applying your knowledge across a diverse range of technologies and requirements. You may also supervise staff across various career groups, providing guidance, assistance, and support to ensure the effective delivery of procurement and replacement services. Your attention to compliance, efficiency, and detail will be pivotal to the ongoing success of SA Pathology's laboratory services.

About You

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Relevant Qualifications:

    Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to efficiently evaluate problems, meet deadlines, and utilise technical resources independently or within a team.
  • Experience in Maintenance and Projects:

    Experience delivering remedial and preventative equipment maintenance and diagnostic services, as well as providing specialist analysis to resolve operational issues for complex medical equipment. Proven background in business improvement projects and capital asset procurement.
  • Specialist Knowledge:

    High-level knowledge of the clinical and technical aspects of biomedical devices and systems, including medical, gas, and surgical instrument technology. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the impact of device operation on patient outcomes.
