Plastic Extruder Operator

Rototuff Polymers is a subsidiary of Garden City Plastics and produces compounds for use in the Rotational Moulding industry. The product we supply is produced through compounding pigment and additives into pellets and converting this to powder for our customers to mould into large water tanks, kayaks and other plastic products.

A day shift role, and a night shift position have become available at our site in Heatherton. We are looking for experienced extruder and mill operators in the Plastics Industry. The role is from Monday to Friday with some weekend work available when required. Day shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, and Night shift is from 10pm to 6am.

Job description:

• Running Extruders
• Running Mills / Clean downs
• Screen Clean downs
• Robotic Bagging line - may require handling 25kg bags sporadically
• Forklift to move end product into finished goods warehouse
• Scanning Finished Goods into stock
• Attention to detail
• General House Keeping

To be successful: Experience within the Plastic Extrusion Manufacturing Industry is advised. Experience with pulverising mills is beneficial.

The successful applicants will be part of a team reporting to the Shift Supervisor and will have a good work ethic, have attention to detail, have initiative, be practically minded and have a quality focus.

Holding a valid forklift licence will be an advantage but also not essential. Forklift License course and test will be provided for.

Good hourly rate - negotiable with experience
