About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Medical Secretary to join our dynamic team at Northern Urology Specialists in our Dee Why practice. This 3 day a week role is an essential support position within our busy specialist practice, responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to our team. This is a maternity leave cover position, with potential to become permanent.
What you'll be doing
- Manage the day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating with other healthcare providers
- Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive experience throughout their interactions with the practice
- Assist with the preparation of medical reports, correspondence, and surgery documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic filing systems
- Liaise with insurance providers and other third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate billing and reimbursement
- Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the practice by supporting the administrative team as needed
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a medical secretary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of medical practice management software, electronic medical records, and Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of medical terminology, billing, and insurance processes
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach
- Flexibility with start and finish times essential
- Flexibility during school holidays essential
