Guided by the values of respect, cultural safety, and community empowerment, our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the people and communities we serve.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Remote Area Nurse (RAN) to join our team full-time in the Big Rivers region. This exciting role offers the opportunity to deliver essential healthcare services while experiencing the rich cultural heritage and unique landscapes of some of Australia's most remote and diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic and culturally responsive care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with protocols and regulatory standards.
- Support community health initiatives, education, and engagement activities.
- Participate in the on-call emergency response roster as required.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Current Registered Nurse qualification and AHPRA registration.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a remote community, emergency, or Indigenous health setting (MEC/REC/ALS certification preferred).
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across diverse communities.
- A genuine commitment to delivering culturally safe, respectful, and community-focused healthcare.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly to remote communities.
What We Offer
At Sunrise, we believe in supporting our people as much as our communities. In this role, you'll enjoy:
- A competitive salary package with salary sacrificing options.
- Generous leave entitlements.
- Relocation assistance to help you settle into the region.
- Ongoing professional development opportunities and career pathways.
- A lifestyle unlike anywhere else in Australia – with the Big Rivers region offering incredible natural beauty, rich cultural experiences, and a welcoming community.
How to Apply
To be considered, please submit:
- A cover letter addressing your suitability for the role, including responses to the mandatory requirements.
- A current CV outlining your experience and qualifications.
