Role Description

-Performs a variety of tasks in support of engineering office and field staff.

-Take soil samples and logging in accordance with AS

-Attend projects experiencing problematic ground conditions, perform measurements and record observations. Liaison with project engineering staff to determine cost effective, realistic solutions.

-Complete granular and soils material sampling.

-Coordinate with utility locators, sub-contractor representatives and other on-site personnel

-Assist with mobilization and demobilization of project related equipment.

  • Assist with general data entry, analysis and preparing documents.

-Collection of environmental samples (soil and water) for chemical assessment in support of construction activities

-Communicate with Senior Engineering Staff as to any field observations or equipment needs during project work.

-Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • An interest in developing fundamental geotechnical engineering knowledge
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a similar role/some site experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Full and valid manual driver's license
  • Minimum two year's local driving experience
  • 3.5t towing experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Preferred knowledge of logging procedure in accordance with AS
  • Understanding of AS and AS
  • Industry White Card (essential)
  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Eligibility for full time work within Australia
